Cub Families can now register for the Cub Expositions for either Sep 25-27 or October 23-25. This is a great opportunity to get your Cub and the family in the outdoors in fall weather!
The Exposition features overnight family camping, self-guided activities and program activities run by volunteers. All camping and activities will be conducted using COVID-19 virus precautions. Space is limited and we cannot accommodate day visitors due to COVID-19 virus capacity limitations, so sign up soon! Register here!

Pack 1151 Bikes the Washington and Old Dominion Trail!
Pack 1151 of Ashburn Village was able to take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather and take a few of our new Scouts on a bike ride! Six of our wonderful families braved the Washington and Old Dominion Trail for a 2 mile long socially distanced ride!
It was great to see the smiles on these young faces and get them outside and active!

Nipun is an Eagle Scout from Maryland, now in med school at UPenn. In between these adventures, he worked with Engineers without Borders, which took him to work on a water tower in Ghana and a piped water system in Nicaragua. Nipun is joining STEMaTHON to share the nexus between the engineering design process and the food/water challenges. Ask him how he went from Philmont to Ghana!

Ben is a scout volunteer from Denver, CO. He has a passion for peacebuilding and the SDGs, a passion he’s brought with him to various scouting roles including the Contingent Management Team for the 2019 World Scout Jamboree and the planing team for the 2022 World Scout Moot. Outside of scouting, Ben studies modern history at Middlebury College in Vermont.

Andrew Darby; Troop 1449 Assistant Scoutmaster; full time retiree; part time project manager of a 200,000+ team working nonstop with one goal, to satisfy Mr. Darby’s sweet tooth. Mr. Darby has been a hobby beekeeper since he was 27, after being introduced to the hobby when a friend needed help moving hives. The seed was planted and tending bees became a lifelong passion, even though, he says, “I eat less than a pound of honey a year. I just like to watch what looks like chaos, but is actually a well controlled production plant, happening in my front yard. It also feels good to play a role in helping bees help our environment.
Join us from September 5-6, 2020 for a STEMaTHON: Scouts Building Bridges and Feeding the World through the lens and tools of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This two day event includes online workshops, keynotes, tours, presentations and even activities!
NCAC Scouting at Home 2020 Award Ends September 7!
In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) encourages Scouts of all ages to stay home and be safe, while continuing to be a Scout! The NCAC Scouting at Home 2020 Award recognizes Scouts and Scouters for meeting the challenge of living by the Scout Oath and Law while the pandemic requires social distancing to be in place.
The NCAC Scouting at Home 2020 Award was introduced in May and has been an overwhelming success! The deadline for completing requirements and ordering patches has been extended to September 7th. Complete the award and order your patches by then to guarantee you will receive the number of these limited-edition patches that you would like. Any order after that, will be available on a first come, first served basis until the supply of patches runs out. We expect patches to be shipped by the end of the fall or early winter.
