Camp Ross: Another Week Added

February 24, 2022 by Goshen Scout Reservation

Due to popular demand, another week has been added to the Camp Ross summer for 2022. There is now a Week 6, which will run 7/31 to 8/6.

Camp Ross is Goshen Scout Reservation’s dedicated Webelos camp, open to rising Webelos and rising AOLs. Our six-day and night camp prepare your Webelos to be fully successful in Scouts BSA. We offer an array of Adventures interspersed with outdoor activity to help Webelos become well-rounded.

At Camp Ross, we offer the classic favorites like swimming, boating, BB gun shooting, archery, tie dye, nature exhibits, fire building, team building exercises, and much more! We also have newer favorites like the HUMONGOUS water trampoline and theme crafts. The theme for Summer 2022 is Ancient Empires. Join us as we explore the ancient world!

New at Camp Bowman in 2022!

February 10, 2022 by Goshen Scout Reservation

What’s new in 2022?

Not too much on the program schedule is changing. We’ve still got all the old favorites, but we’ve also added some other program elements for this summer. We’re looking forward to, all things willing, being able to bring back Motorboating Merit Badge and Water Sports Merit Badge this summer. We’ve also expanded opportunities for Adult Leader Training at Aquatics and increased the times for Open Boating.

One thing we’re really looking forward to this summer is more fun things to do around camp during evening program. We’ll still have the typical open shoot, open boating, and Merit Badge Make-Ups, but we’ve added some new programs to the evening at the ‘Crafts. Stop by Culture Craft to work on Scouting Heritage MB, challenge someone to a chess game, learn some Goshen History, or hear some of the infamous Camp Bowman Ghost Stories. Visit Handicraft to take Art MB or let your creativity flourish during Open Crafting. New to Scouts? Get your Totin’ Chip at Scoutcraft on a Monday or Thursday evening.

Check out the fun evening program options below!

Aquatics Evening Program

  • Mile Swim (starts Sunday)
  • Open Boating
  • Safe Swim Defense & Safety Afloat (Monday & Wednesday)

Culture Craft Evening Program

  • Scouting Heritage Merit Badge
  • Goshen History

  • Open Chess

Handicraft Open Program

  • Open Crafting

Lenhok’sin Outpost Update

January 25, 2022 by Goshen Scout Reservation

We have a Lenhok’sin Outpost changeup this summer. Due to lack of popularity, Mountain Biking will be closing this summer. Replacing it is, new for 2022, the Search and Rescue outpost.

Search & Rescue: Take part in a staff-led search and rescue scenario and learn about how to treat some of the backcountry’s most common injuries, including sprains, environmental emergencies, and more.

Also, based on best practices from the National Speleological Society and the National Park Service, Caving will unfortunately be closed again this summer due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
